Doing the Eagle Rock!

Late…sorry! I had hoped to have these up earlier. I blame my parents air hockey table because dang that thing is addicting! Late…sorry! I had hoped to have these up earlier. I blame my parents air hockey table because dang that thing is addicting! I also blame Monday night football with the Steelers playing and my need to shower before settling down for the evening. I didn’t even dump the photo from my camera yet. I’m going off of the ones I took at Zoo Boo last Sunday, and Phipps Conservatory yesterday.

So here is my boy all dressed up:

And here is the story that goes with it. My guy is obsessed and I mean obsessed with the Wiggles. He JUST turned three and we’ve been to three live Wiggles concerts. He loves them and so do I. Love the energy, all of the parents and kiddos singing and dancing – acting all goofy. There is really nothing like it. But I digress. There is a Wiggles video, “The Live Hot Potatoes” and it’s basically a wiggles concert. One song, “The Eagle Rock” features the dancers in Eagle costumes, really cute Eagles costumes that I was determined to make. Liam LOVES that song and we dance to it whenever it comes on. So there was the reason for the costume. Apparently that Wiggles song is a cover and the song was first sung by Ross Wilson. I don’t expect you to know who Ross Wilson is…I certainly didn’t until I started researching the costume.

So here are a few more photos in costume:

It was a fun and fairly easy one to make this year. The hooded poncho I sewed on the machine…I was excited to find that funky fabric! The feathers are felt and attached to the pants and the poncho hood. He minded the feathered hood less when it was pinned to his jacket hood…whatever works right?

That’s all for tonight. Night all!

Thank you mother nature!

I haven’t been able to go running OR play outside with Liam…I had cabin fever big time! So today we took advantage. After lunch, we went out back, walked through the woods and enjoyed nature – love that!

And how about this one. He wanted me to carry him through part of the woods so that the branches would hit his head also.

Isn’t my little dudes hair out of control! Love that hippie look – or if you’re my sister it’s the feathered 70′s look. She’s such a booger!

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

And tonight will be for the third night that Liam wears his costume and the awesome part – he gets it! He understands the whole trick-or-treat thing, the candy concept and all of the fun that goes with it. So cool! I’m probably more excited than he is! I’ll post back later tonight with photos. And my final clue….simply fill in the blanks to this song chorus and you’ll get it. Well maybe it’s no so simple!!!!! If nothing else, you’ll be aware of an old/new song tomorrow!

Hey hey hey

One of those days…

I don’t even know where to start. My newly turned three year old beat me down today…again and again and again. It was one of those days where I questioned where I went wrong every five minutes. It was one of those days where I had to ask Liam to do something at least three times before physically helping him, one of those days where time outs don’t work, let alone a good ol’ talking to. It’s just one of those days.

In thoery, our day should have been awesome. A trip to My Gym for an hour of “Terrific Tots”, a trip to the coffee shop with a cookie in hand and a playdate/lunch with his playpals. Maybe it was just too much, or maybe his wiring was off today – I’ll never know.

I do know that I’ve never needed nap time as much in my life as I do right this second. Thank goodness for nap times…even if he doesn’t nap…as long as he plays in his bed for two hours – life is good.

Work work work.

But here are a few things that I’ve designed recently:

And if you’re thinking about that costume:

HINT #6: No make-up.

And for the record, if you ask Liam what he’s going to be for Halloween, he’ll respond with “a costume.” That’s my boy!

THREE!!!

Happy Birthday to my boy who turns three today. I’m still in denial, he’s not THAT old! He’s still my baby, my little boy….right? I guess that I’m learning what my folks have told me all along. It’s hard to watch your baby grow up. In one way it’s good. You’re a proud parent watching [...]

Happy Birthday to my boy who turns three today. I’m still in denial, he’s not THAT old! He’s still my baby, my little boy….right?

I guess that I’m learning what my folks have told me all along. It’s hard to watch your baby grow up. In one way it’s good. You’re a proud parent watching your child move forward, learn, grow – and that’s the good. But all of that growing means more independence and to me that’s scary. I’m telling you, I should be in therapy.

So even though today is a yucky cold day, Liam and I tried to make the best of it. Check out these new kicks that we tried out today:

Pretty cool right? Liam thought so too:

And I’m posting this one just because I simply shot it at a differnt angle and got a funky color thing going on. I didn’t do anything to it on the computer.

Living in the woods has it’s benefits. I love being able to step outside of my house and have the perfect back-drop! Now…I NEED to get some work done in the scrap world before I find myself job-less. Hopefully I’ll have something to share tomorrow!!!

An odd analogy

This morning I’m relating child birthday parties to childbirth. You get all excited and organized thinking that everything should go well because you’re ready for it and then WHAM…it hits you. This morning I’m relating child birthday parties to childbirth. You get all excited and organized thinking that everything should go well because you’re ready for it and then WHAM…it hits you. You’re caught in a whirlwind and you’re totally NOT in control. And while in the end your happy with the result, you feel like you’ve been hit by a truck. But after a good night sleep and a little down time, you start thinking that you could pull it off again – no problem. It’s all so strange, this life we live.

So yesterday’s party went well. The weather stunk, but the company was good. Our family was so generous and Liam did really well with his “thank-you’s” – I was a proud mommy. We have lots of things to find homes for today…thank goodness we have a playroom!!! And another HUGE thanks to everyone for coming (if you’re reading this) – you made Liam’s third birthday AWESOME!

Now…I need to go eat me some cake for breakfast. Don’t tell Liam!!!

And speaking of cake – here are a few typical birthday cake shots (I still need to fix the photos and get rid of that darn flash – stupid dreary day!):

Fatigue and joy.

Why is it that we wait all week for Friday and once it finally rolls around, it’s blur. Friday’s move too quickly, at least mine did today – and it’s not over yet. I had a day filled with party shopping and food prep – all for tomorrow – my little guys birthday celebration. And while I want to complain that I’m busy and tired and just stop, I can’t. This day only comes once a year and it’s all for my boy. And instead of seeing the negative – the work and the fatigue – I see the joy.

I would do anything for this little boy of mine – my two year old. He makes me happy, his smile, his laugh – everything about him. And tomorrow I get to celebrate my guy as he turns one year older. I’m one lucky mommy.

Oh, and for the Halloween game:

Hint #5 – The costume is three pieces (not counting shoes).

Game on…again.

Well heck, I’m not running my game very well am I! I was so eager to get the pumpkin patch pictures up yesterday that I forgot about the clue! But hey, maybe ya’ll just don’t care…ah well. Here are two more hints (yesterday and today): Hint #3: Part of the costume is a bit feminine. [...]

Hint#4: The costume could be linked with a band.

Are the wheels turning yet?

A day out with the gals…aka sanity saver

Whew – I survived! There is nothing like a day with a few two years old to tucker a gal out – and there weren’t even that many! With each child needing something very different and specific, it gets a bit tiring. However, we did have a wonderful time at the pumpkin patch – took a hayride, played in a cornstalk maze, rode the slide, saw some animals…if was a jam packed hour and a half! So let’s see, here is a group shot of the kiddos:

Emily (left), Liam, Will and Claire (right) – aren’t they the cutest all together!!!

And here are some mom/kiddo shots so that you can see who the kiddos belong too:

The middle photo is Tina with Emily and Will. The right photo is Jenny (due in three weeks – YAY) with Claire. It’s not often we moms are in the pictures!!!

And just because Will is so darn cute (and he likes the camera) here are a few shots of him:

And finally a few shots of Liam in the pumpkin patch. You know, looking at these photos reminds me that on some days the poor guy could use a little mousse in his hair. He takes after his dad because at this age I was as curly as you get. So here is Liam in all his straightness – and I PROMISE that he doesn’t have a bowl cut!
