It’s all about the NEW today.

First off, my NEW baby girl is one month old today. That’s 31 days that she has been with us. It’s crazy to think about where the time goes…if I think about it for too long I’ll get depressed! And in this photo she is wearing her NEW hat knitted by grammy. Adorable isn’t it! My mother-in-law knits the cutest things. She has stuff just waiting for her to grow into. It makes me want to take up knitting. THANK YOU Marybeth!!!

And then there is my boy. I was able to catch this photo of him with his NEW soccer ball. The photo is totally not staged…he was watching tv with his chin on the ball and just happened to turn and look at me. Lucky shot on my part eh? Anyway – he started soccer two weeks ago and needed a ball to take. Love my little guy!

And finally a layout that I was able to complete over the weekend featuring some NEW 7 gypsies paper that’ll be released at CHA. Love the color palette – very pretty stuff! You’ll be seeing more very soon.

That’s all the NEW I can take right now! Have a great night!

All over the place today.

First off THANK YOU for your awesome comments/emails on the video. Sure it’s a personal thing but something very special and I’m happy to share it with you. First off THANK YOU for your awesome comments/emails on the video. Sure it’s a personal thing but something very special and I’m happy to share it with you.

Next, Mel had asked about the photo borders that I’ve been using. I have quite the collection these days – it’s probably just a phase. Anyway, I purchased some of them from 2peas (they’re mostly Rhonna’s) and then some others from Scrap Artist. I think that I even have a set from The Shabby Shoppe. So check out those sites if you’re interested – they’re fun and really dress up a photo nicely.

Finally, an Addy update. And before you think that I’m neglecting my little boy because I’m not posting as many photos of him I should tell you that he REFUSES any photos right now. I had Addy’s newborn shoot done on Monday and I had to REALLY bribe Liam to pose with her. So he’s totally over photos right now. And Addy, she can’t move!!! It’s nice having a subject that can’t run away or do the opposite of what I ask – YET!!!

Have a great day!

A different type of camera.

A video camera. When it comes to taking family photos, I’m usually the one found with the camera. When it comes to filming the family, Nate is the one with the camera. And it’s nice, fantastic, wonderful. Do I seem dramatic? Perhaps. But Nate’s obsession/interest in film really does pay off when he makes these [...]

A video camera. When it comes to taking family photos, I’m usually the one found with the camera. When it comes to filming the family, Nate is the one with the camera. And it’s nice, fantastic, wonderful. Do I seem dramatic? Perhaps. But Nate’s obsession/interest in film really does pay off when he makes these little shorts. This one he did the day Addy was born. Yep, he went home in the evening to take care of Liam (per my instruction) and couldn’t sleep so he did some editing. I still can’t get past the first 10 seconds without crying like a baby…I’m a mess by the end. I blame the hormones.

So if you’re interested, most of this was filmed the day Addy was born – from leaving the house early in the morning to coming out of surgery. There isn’t anything gross from surgery or anything (LOVE the nurses for filming in there for us) so no worries. Well, there is a bare belly shot so if that’s offends you, pass on the video.

Grandparents, enjoy. I know that I do.

Addy video.

And thanks Nate.

Not mine. Being a new mom of two right now, I’ll admit that I haven’t found the time to create something on my own. Do I want to? You bet. But it’s all about striking a balance first. Addressing the needs of a newborn, not having my four year old feel slighted in any way, [...]

Not mine. Being a new mom of two right now, I’ll admit that I haven’t found the time to create something on my own. Do I want to? You bet. But it’s all about striking a balance first. Addressing the needs of a newborn, not having my four year old feel slighted in any way, keeping my husband happy and dealing with everything else around me. I’ll get there.

So why am I sharing this piece of artwork? Because it’s what I get to look at on a daily basis right now (and obviously since just before Christmas). The artist is William Spencer III – Nate and I discovered his artwork in a contemporary gallery while vacationing in Arizona over the summer. And now we own a piece. It makes me happy (and looks perfect in that spot). So while I may not be creating my own things right now, I am appreciating the work of others. It ties all of the colors on our first floor together. And just to give you an idea of what I mean – here is a layout that I did two years ago (I think) about the colors in our home. It’s the layout that earned me an honorable mention in the Hall of Fame contest the year before last.

Have a great day!

Because Nate said I should.

Another photo of Addy. Granted it’s from last week but still stinkin’ cute! Check out those cheeks resting on the straps! And just because I’m proud of myself – Addy more than passed her weight check at the doctors this week – gaining 1 pound in 8 days! Go me! Milk mama I am! I [...]

I think that it’s all going to her cheeks!
