Regression – it’s never good.

Today is Adeline’s four month birthday. I say it again – where does the time go! Honestly, it’s nuts. I need to do a little photo shoot – perhaps that’ll happen tomorrow. But for now (and since I’m behind) – here is a photo from last week. Let’s see – she is holding her head [...]

Today is Adeline’s four month birthday. I say it again – where does the time go! Honestly, it’s nuts. I need to do a little photo shoot – perhaps that’ll happen tomorrow. But for now (and since I’m behind) – here is a photo from last week.

Let’s see – she is holding her head up and rolling onto her sides (not tummy because she really hates being on her tummy).

She is digging this little bunny chewy toy I bought at Target (go me).
She likes rattles, but only looking at them.
She smiles at her big brother almost all of the time (and he LOVES that).
She loves being worn (thank goodness for the Moby wrap). I had her one for a little over two hours today. She didn’t sleep. Let me repeat that, SHE DIDN’T SLEEP! Which leads me to a few more things Addy is doing like eating ALL OF THE TIME. And a few things that she is NOT doing like sleeping. My little girl has been awesome from day one – a true sleeper. We were on a great schedule (that she set even). Bed around nine, dream feed at midnight, awake sometime from 7:30 to 8:30. BLISS! But now, NO NAPPING! It’s maddening and she’s cranky and I don’t know what to do. So – I turned to the Internet and started reading because I don’t remember any of this stuff with Liam. It sounds like the four month regression (at least according to the one site I’m choosing to follow). And because I need to believe this – things will go back to “normal” sometime soon. They have to. Right?

And because I’m tense and need to unwind – I’m getting off of the computer. Have a fab night!

Happy Day!

Life is such a special thing isn’t it? I’m having a mega sappy moment right now. Babies can do that to a person.

More later.

A photo update.

Can you stand anymore Easter photos? Because that’s all that I’ve got for ya today! I got some time to sit down this morning and go through some of the photos (thanks Nate for taking over the kiddos). And I’m so proud of myself because I actually handed over the camera to Nate so that [...]

Can you stand anymore Easter photos? Because that’s all that I’ve got for ya today! I got some time to sit down this morning and go through some of the photos (thanks Nate for taking over the kiddos). And I’m so proud of myself because I actually handed over the camera to Nate so that I’d have some photos of me with the kids – I’m just giddy having them! I need to do it more often. I’m such a control freak.

This is one of my new favorite photos! Nate and his sweet baby girl…

One of me and my sweet baby girl…

One of me with my babes in their Easter threads…

And one of Liam being..well Liam. It’s one of those where I ask him to look at me so he turns my direction to look at me…but moves his eyes away. Little bugger!

And then despite how it looks – I haven’t given up scrapbooking. I’ve been quite busy actually working on a project that I can’t share right now. But I do have one page that I can show you however it’s old…like last month old. I did this one for 7Gypsies. They have kits that they sell on QVC in the UK and this page went with one of the kids. I love pages like this that span time (Nate don’t laugh at my spanning time comment). Enjoy!

ETA: What’s up with the red tint on my layout? Humf. It’s not there IRL.

Wasn’t there a show called Kids Say the Darndest Things or something along those lines? I never watched – maybe because I didn’t have kids at the time. Either that or it was up against some other really good show but I digress. I’ve found that four is the age you really need to watch [...]

Wasn’t there a show called Kids Say the Darndest Things or something along those lines? I never watched – maybe because I didn’t have kids at the time. Either that or it was up against some other really good show but I digress. I’ve found that four is the age you really need to watch because you never know what’s going to come out of that usually sweet little mouth. Good, bad, funny, offensive – you just never know. For example last Saturday, we were at a birthday party and the guest of honor came over to me in her sweet little voice and said “Miss Marla, your baby looks like a piglet.” Yep, a piglet. The good news is that I didn’t hit her. I didn’t even tell her mother. I politely smiled and said “you think?” And the conversation ended. She is four.

And today while driving home from school Liam announced, “hey mom, I can feel my phalanges.” Now the science nerd deep within was jumping for joy because my son knew where his phalanges were and could pronounce the word. But I couldn’t stop chuckling because darn that was funny! I promptly called Nate so that Liam could share the news.

Finally, I forgot to post my weekly Addy photo so here it is.

She is now laughing more, smiling all of the time, cooing a lot and still trying to roll over. She sleeps like a champ which is an absolute joy. She notices when I leave the room and isn’t always happy about it and is starting to think about toys. Her hands are still in fists but opening up ever so slightly. She loves her big brother and he’s becoming very protective. Love that!

The Easter Freeze.

There is something about Easter and 30 degrees that just doesn’t work for me. Call me crazy but I’d like the weather to be more like…April weather. Crazy I know. There is something about Easter and 30 degrees that just doesn’t work for me. Call me crazy but I’d like the weather to be more like…April weather. Crazy I know. The good thing is that the kids didn’t seem to care. They weren’t going to let a coat, hat, gloves, turtleneck, WHATEVER, get in the way of a good egg hunt. And since they had one outside last year it just HAD to be outside again this year!

And the only reason I got this picture of the three boys (the other cousin didn’t make the shot) was because Nate yelled freeze – and so they did.

I love it when the cousins can all get together.

It’s late, more later!

Easter apple

For three years now Liam has received an apple from the Easter bunny in his basket. It’s still the first thing that he goes for. THAT makes mom happy. Happy Easter!

The UPS driver was a female – since I’m pretty sure I flashed her (note to self: make sure shirt is buttoned up after nursing daughter – forget barking dog outside, she’s harmless)

Carpet cleaners. I have a cat with mega colon and it acted up last night, big time. Remind me again why I love cats?

Ready bake cookies. I needed sweets, Liam wanted to surprise daddy with cookies, and I didn’t need a mixer. Enough said. Normally, I’m a baking gal…like from scratch but not today.

Online shopping. The Easter bunny is all set to go thanks to this place (Liam goes to a Montessori school). We don’t do much candy, only fruit and toys.

Finding a camera store that will clean my camera in 1-2 days…instead of the other one that said 4-6 weeks – those people were CRAZY!

Folded laundry. Hopefully tomorrow I can say that it’s put away.

How does this happen?

Today, 76 degrees outside. BEAUTIFUL warm sunny run around in tank top and sandals weather. Happy weather. Bubble blowing weather. See?

Fun weather! Go outside and play weather! Marla is happy weather.

Now looking at the five-day forecast I see the numbers going THE WRONG WAY!!! Tomorrow 57…34…31…TWENTY EIGHT…36. COLD weather! Snowman making weather! Heat up your car weather! Hat and mittens weather! Marla is VERY grumpy weather. My daffodils are going to die!!!!

So without going all Al Gore on me, tell me – how does this happen? This funky weather and all. Do I just live on the wrong coast? Do I need to call my realtor? Perhaps.

And then how does this happen?

My little girl is almost rolling over! That’s not right is it? She’s just a BABY…she shouldn’t be able to do stuff like this yet!!! Next she’ll be trying to crawl, or sit up or WALK.

I need some answers!

…that Liam was going to be hypersensitive and whiney today, I would have woken up with a lot more patience.

…that I wasn’t going to feel wall today I wouldn’t have put the laundry off until TODAY. Do we really need clean underwear?

…that my laptop hard drive was going to be diagnosed as fried, I would have backed up my iPhoto vacation photos. Anyone have a good data recovery person?

…that I would get a decent photo of Addy and Liam TOGETHER I would have fixed Liam’s moppy hair.

If I would have known.
