I’m behind in sharing a few pages that I did…maybe tomorrow.
For now, let me explain this.
This was taken at our Memorial Day picnic at my moms. And if you haven’t noticed, we’re all wearing black. It was a very fun practical joke that we played on my dad this year, all thanks to Laura (hi Laura)! You see, my dad decided some time ago that all he needed to wear were black shirts. I’m wondering if it started with his company shirts (mom do you know)?
A few years ago my mom, sister and I even played a different joke on him for his birthday and got him some “dress” shirts. We purchased about 10 different styles of black shirts, all with buttons. And we decided to dress them up for him. We snipped off all of the buttons and sewed them on with colored threads to add a little color and create holiday shirts for him. So the Halloween black shirt had buttons with orange thread…and Christmas with red/green…you get the picture. He was a good sport and still wears the shirts – announcing how wild and crazy he it with the colored threads. It was a good joke and actually a practical gift for the man who always wears black.
So about the picnic this weekend. Laura suggests that everyone attending wear a black shirt (with jeans ideally) to see if he’ll notice. So we did…and after about ten people showed up he started seeing the trend. So he went upstairs and put on a white shirt – bugger. It didn’t last long though and he sported the black after a few minutes. We all had a good laugh.
This is our “make a funny face” group photo:
It was a good day. A hot day. A day to NOT wear black!
Quick note to friends and family members who may want a copy of the photos…let me know and I’ll email them to you OR post them on snapfish and send you the link if you don’t want to fuss with printing on your own.
***Another note…I’m trying to figure out how to post these bigger so that you can see everyone better. Stay tuned!
