I’m behind in sharing a few pages that I did…maybe tomorrow.

For now, let me explain this.

This was taken at our Memorial Day picnic at my moms. And if you haven’t noticed, we’re all wearing black. It was a very fun practical joke that we played on my dad this year, all thanks to Laura (hi Laura)! You see, my dad decided some time ago that all he needed to wear were black shirts. I’m wondering if it started with his company shirts (mom do you know)?

A few years ago my mom, sister and I even played a different joke on him for his birthday and got him some “dress” shirts. We purchased about 10 different styles of black shirts, all with buttons. And we decided to dress them up for him. We snipped off all of the buttons and sewed them on with colored threads to add a little color and create holiday shirts for him. So the Halloween black shirt had buttons with orange thread…and Christmas with red/green…you get the picture. He was a good sport and still wears the shirts – announcing how wild and crazy he it with the colored threads. It was a good joke and actually a practical gift for the man who always wears black.

So about the picnic this weekend. Laura suggests that everyone attending wear a black shirt (with jeans ideally) to see if he’ll notice. So we did…and after about ten people showed up he started seeing the trend. So he went upstairs and put on a white shirt – bugger. It didn’t last long though and he sported the black after a few minutes. We all had a good laugh.

This is our “make a funny face” group photo:

It was a good day. A hot day. A day to NOT wear black!

Quick note to friends and family members who may want a copy of the photos…let me know and I’ll email them to you OR post them on snapfish and send you the link if you don’t want to fuss with printing on your own.

***Another note…I’m trying to figure out how to post these bigger so that you can see everyone better. Stay tuned!

A five year old funny

Are you getting it? Unless you can get into the mind of a five year old phonetic speller you probably need a little help.

Translation: “Why do bears don’t wear socks”

Remember, he’s five and could use some help with delivery.

The answer?

This kid doesn’t mess around and goes straight for the laugh. And laugh he did…again…and again…and again.

He’s a funny boy.

The modified Liam version of the game “20 questions.” It’s “played” every night…but not always fun. And I swear it’s getting longer. It goes a little something like this.

Goodnight!
Goodnight!

Is it going to rain? no
How many minutes until I get up? 60
One hour! ok
Is the electricity going to go out tonight? it shouldn’t
Am I going to hear your shower? no
Am I going to have a bad dream? no Are you sure? yes
Are my animals going to come alive? no
Don’t shut the gate! we won’t
Keep the bathroom door open. ok
Are you sure that I’m going to hear your shower? yes
How many minutes until its dark out? it already is
Are my socks in my bed? yes
OK, goodnight! goodnight!

And just when you think it’s all over…there is always another random question. Sometimes it’s one of the same ones listed above. Sigh. It’ll end someday.

And because I’ve been off for a bit let’s do some sharing. I’ve been working on those deadlines again!

Some folks may have seen this page already but I created this as an online class for Sassafras Lass. It was done on NSD for two peas and was so fun!

This is a page that I created using some of the “older” Sassafras Lass papers and some American Crafts goodies. I wanted to get this journaling down. Addy has found her voice when it comes to her big brother! And while she doesn’t necessarily use words, we KNOW what she means!

And finally I did this page using some of the new cosmo cricket papers. The background was made of many starts mounted onto the black and then I cut away the excess black. It looks really neat in person!

I played with the June kit from It Kit Studio this past week so stay tuned for more sharing. It’s a colorful kit and I loved it!
